YLVA – School Furniture Design Project

Within the framework of the “Design Methodology” course, this collaborative project aimed to develop a product intended to improve the environment in primary schools. This project was designed to identify and address the challenges faced by primary school institutions regarding the learning environment, thereby improving the quality of the learning experience.

THE FINAL CONCEPT – YLVA

The final concept, which we call YLVA, introduces a portable and foldable partition, designed to be attached to school desks. This innovation aims to establish a quiet study area and is designed to promote an atmosphere optimal for concentration and academic focus. Through its adaptability and ease of use, this partition wall seeks to transform the conventional classroom environment into a versatile learning environment, tailored to meet the individual needs of students who need solitude to find focus for their studies. YLVA is designed for efficient storage when not in operation, allowing for it to be neatly folded and effortlessly hung on the shorter end of the school desk. Moreover, to enable collaborative work without interrupting other students, two YLVA units can be connected to create an expanded partition screen.

MY PART OF THE PROJECT

Aside from contributing to the collective development of the concept, my main responsibilities included the sketching and visualization of the concept. For this purpose, I employed the use of Procreate and Adobe Illustrator.
